Grave markers are sentimental, intimate, and human. In every culture, we trace humanity throughout lifetimes with chiseled stone. The stone erodes with time, but the language endures.
In juxtaposition to the ideas of the piece, Radical Modernism by designer Dan Friedman, I collected records of grave markers and sites that reflect Friedman's philosophies. The final Do-Si-Do book design shows the connection between Friedman's modern vision o culture and enduring human practices.
